CultureSecrets offers you a private evening at the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine to discover the exhibition "AeroDream". Discover more than 250 works and a specific course of monumental inflatables scattered in the permanent galleries of the Cité in the company of Stéphanie Quantin-Biancalani, curator of the collection of modern and contemporary architecture
Over a short period of time, many creators from all disciplines have taken up inflatables and pneumatic structures as a new medium, a support for multiple forms of action and expression, from the design of objects to that of events, environments, architectural and urban projects.
From the middle of the 60s to the beginning of the 70s, artists, architects, engineers and designers have, through the inflatable, redefined the relationship of architecture to the foundation, to the territories, but also to the space in a new relationship to the body, thanks to multiple interventions and installations
At the crossroads of different currents, from spatialism to pop art, from Gutai to Groupe Zero, from action art to radical architecture, the use of inflatables has had a worldwide repercussion between the European scenes, Japan or the United States, marking a transition between a crisis of modernism engaged since the post-war period and the advent of postmodernism.
