Anni and Josef Albers, a German-American couple who pioneered abstract art and modern design, are at the heart of the "Art and Life" exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art. Discover their work, which influenced a whole generation of artists, with your CultureSecrets tickets.
The Museum of Modern Art is dedicating an exhibition to the leading couple of 16th century art, Anni and Josef Albers. These artists, but also teachers, see art as an essential pillar in the education of everyone. They are convinced that art can change the world. Thus their work advocates the democratization of art that would allow greater autonomy of thought and awareness of the subjectivity of perception.
Through more than 350 significant works, explore their artistic development, from the productions of the Bauhaus, to their work at Black Mountain College, to Anni's graphic work... In this exhibition, full of bright colors and abstract geometric forms, a large number of documents (photographs, letters, notebooks...) gathered with the help of the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, allow us to contextualize the work of both artists.
