Emmanuel Macron, Jean-Michel Jarre and Guillaume Canet inaugurate the "most important Franco-Chinese cultural exchange and cooperation project", the "Pompidou Center x West Bund Museum Project"

The Center Pompidou is exported out of the Hexagon ... for the third time! After the success of Malaga and the Brussels project (opening in late 2023), the Pompidou Center leaves Europe to conquer the largest Chinese metropolis, Shanghai (24 million inhabitants).

Signed by British architect David Chipperfield, the 25,000-square-meter glass and concrete building stretches along the banks of the Huangpu River. It is covered with a material that looks like jade and will change color depending on the tone of the day.

Signé par l’architecte britannique David Chipperfield, l’édifice de 25.000 m2 fait de verre et de béton s’étend au bord de la rivière Huangpu. Il est recouvert d’un matériau qui ressemble au jade et changera de couleur en fonction de la tonalité du jour.

On the program: a course entitled The Shape of Time ("the shape of time") which exposes 175 works of the Parisian establishment including Picasso, Paul Klee, Mondrian, Pierre Soulages, Lee Ufan, Gerhard Richter, Jackson Pollock or Zhang Huan . Not only paintings, but also documents, sounds, videos and multimedia pieces.
