Come and discover the fascinating work of the internationally renowned English artist duo, Jane & Louise Wilson, with CultureSecrets. On the occasion of Photo Days, the two women present for the first time their own photographic exhibition in France.
Jane & Louise Wilson present an exhibition that is the culmination of their work over the past two years during residencies on Gapado Island in South Korea and Ise Island in Japan, which they have put into dialogue with a previous series produced in 2010 in Chernobyl.
Their work takes shape through theatrical installations mixing photography, video and sculpture around environmental themes. Indeed, the duo of artists is particularly interested in the impact of Man on the planet.
Fascinated by the unconscious, these twin sisters create strange, hallucinatory and psychedelic images, provoking visual shocks made of contrasting materials (mineral/organic) and environments (land/sea, nature/architecture), mixing the beauty of nature with the abandoned architecture and chaos of some sadly historical sites.
