Superstar of the Japanese art scene, widely known for his smiling flowers, bright colors and his Manga style pop universe, Takashi Murakami, unclassifiable, is one the most influential contemporary artists. Join us for this evening and explore Murakami’s world through more than twenty original pieces.
You’ll embark on a private and guided visit of the Perrotin Gallery for this exceptional evening. The main hall is dedicated to Mr. DOB, the iconic character created by the artist. Mr. DOB's design was inspired by animated figures like Doraemon, Sonic and Mickey Mouse.
Accompanying Takashi Murakami in his existential questions, the character of DOB has developed a complex psychology to the point of becoming the artist’s avatar. In the room adjoining the ballroom, the gallery will also present, for the first time, the sculpture “Devil Ko2”. On the lower level, you’ll discover a completely different aspect of his work inspired by traditional Japanese painting. The visit will be followed by a little social time accompanied by a delicious glass of Taittinger Champagne.
Born in Tokyo in 1962, Takashi Murakami is one of the most influential artists to come out of Jap
