Samuel Dougados is an outstanding artist of Beach Art, he was world champion of the discipline in 2011! He makes environmental art, that is to say that he draws giant frescoes on the beaches of our coastline, but also in the world! CultureSecrets offers you an online meeting with Samuel to discover his career and his work. Between balance and harmony in form, he wants to bring out the simple beauty of the work and provoke the eye, in order to create an interaction between the work and the environment but also between the work and the public.
Samuel Dougados came to art out of "need". After his adolescence, he felt the need to express his sensitivity through writing, in prose or poem. He then tried his hand at painting and quickly moved on to sculpture. He participated in his first exhibition in Bayonne in 2003 and was spotted a few years later by the Spacejunk Gallery art centers, which offered him the opportunity to participate in various group exhibitions over a period of three years.
Influenced by Pop Art, Street Art, nature and contemporary art in general, he creates his huge Land Art frescoes, using a single rake on the sand! He likes to call his discipline "Beach Art" in comparison to Street Art, by his appropriation of a common place: the beach. He can thus express himself in an immense space that no other medium can provide. These performances have no frame, no limit, except that of time ... By this ephemeral work, he transforms, for a short time, a common space and known to all to bring a new look.
CultureSecrets offers you this meeting in partnership with the online art gallery Artmajeur. Created to allow contemporary artists to present or sell their works widely, it is the 1st platform of online art sales in Europe.
Samuel's work is twofold because before the tide erases his frescoes, he photographs them fro
