MasterClass : Fontainebleau, the home of kings

Discovering a jewel of our heritage

CultureSecrets offers you a one-hour MasterClass to discover one of the oldest royal castles in France... It has been inhabited by almost all the kings of France and even by some of our Presidents of the Republic.

To know

Fontainebleau is not the castle of a sovereign, but that of each of them, a true "family home" of the kings of France, handed down from generation to generation, from the Middle Ages to the 19th century ! With more than 1500 rooms, it presents Renaissance masterpieces commissioned by François I, the refined interiors of Marie-Antoinette, the ceremonial apartment of Napoleon I or the taste of Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie... A hunting and holiday residence, it is the witness of the court life of the sovereigns, both official and more intimate. Until the beginning of the 20th century, it was even used by our presidents of the Republic.
It is a unique and sometimes unknown jewel of our heritage that we suggest you discover through this online MasterClass Beaux Arts Magazine. Alongside Marouane, a passionate lecturer, you will contemplate and travel differently in the world of art !
