The Château d'If, a key island fortress located in the middle of the harbor of Marseille and built under François I. Only accessible by boat, the stroll will give you the opportunity to admire a magnificent panorama on the city of Marseille and on the islands of Frioul. Alexandre Dumas made his famous Count of Monte Cristo stay there, which is what contributed to the fame of the island.
Finally, the Towers of La Rochelle, vestiges of medieval maritime fortifications, have protected the port since the 14th century. Emblematic monument of the maritime trade, it will offer you a wonderful view on the old port, the fort Boyard and the islands of Aix, Oléron and Ré.
