Embark on an expedition to the heart of the human being and elsewhere at the Maillol Museum with your CultureSecrets tickets. The retrospective exhibition dedicated to the American photographer, Steve McCurry, is an opportunity to discover more than 40 years of travel through his lens.
From the picturesque streets of Havana to the indigenous tribes of Papua, the Maillol Museum takes you to the crossroads of cultures, landscapes and conflicts immortalized on the film of Steve McCurry. For the first time in Paris, a complete exhibition of more than 150 large-format photos is dedicated to the photographer.
The exhibition begins with a series of black and white photographs from one of his trips to Afghanistan in 1979, and gradually opens up to a polychrome universe where dreamlike and threatening images are mixed. Among them, many are famous and have crossed the world, including that of "the young Afghan woman with green eyes". The exhibition also includes short videos where the artist reveals his photographic approach and his travels.
