An immersion in the heart of surrealism at the Giacometti Institute, in private

Private visit of the exhibition "Alberto Giacometti / André Breton : surrealist friendships

Description

CultureSecrets invites you to come and admire the work of Alberto Giacometti's sculptor, which resonates with that of his friend André Breton during a private morning visit to the Giacometti Institute. A surrealist dive, discovering the works that forged the surrealist movement.

Alberto Giacometti's time with André Breton's Surrealist group lasted barely five years, during which he established himself as one of the movement's most innovative artists. His plastic research on eroticism, play, dreaming and objective chance, as well as his writings published in the journals of the Surrealist movement, distinguish him among the most active members. Although the Surrealist adventure ended for Giacometti in 1935, his friendship with Breton lasted for many years and his companions of the time remained close to the artist.
