"Love Songs" at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie

Photography or the art of intimacy

An intimate exhibition at the MEP that explores photography through the prism of romantic relationships. To be explored like a carnal stroll punctuated by prints that one would like to offer to one's lover.

To know

Explore the diversity of stories and patterns of love through intimate moments captured in images and revealing the tumult of emotions with poetry and sincerity. The "Love Songs" exhibition is thoughtfully designed as two sides of a record, Side A enchanting us with works from the 1950s to 2000 and Side B immersing us in romantic images from the 2000s to 2020.

In addition to charming, "Love Songs" makes us reflect on the subjectivity of the photographic medium, often claimed to be in search of objectivity. The photographs presented, some for the first time in Europe, include masterpieces from the MEP's collection as well as exceptional loans from leading contemporary artists.
