Born in 1966 in Glasgow, Scotland, Douglas Gordon is a multidisciplinary artist working in video, drawing, sculpture and installation. His work on the distortion of time and the tension between opposing forces (life and death, good and evil) is similar to Giacometti's questioning of the human condition. Taking the specificities of the space occupied by the Giacometti Institute, Douglas Gordon imagines a dialogue between his work and that of Giacometti. For the occasion, Gordon has created a series of original works that will be presented in conjunction with sculptures and drawings by Alberto Giacometti that are little known or have never been shown to the public.
His works are thus harmoniously blended within the unique art deco architecture of the Institut Giacometti.
