To know

From May 12 to October 1, 2022, L'École des Arts Joailliers will present an exhibition telling the story of the art of engraved stones mainly from the private collection of Guy Ladrière: Greek and neoclassical intaglios, ancient and medieval cameos, small sculptures from the imperial period, Merovingian signet rings, episcopal rings will be brought together to evoke all the facets of the thousand-year-old art of glyptics.
All these stones, engraved or engraved, allow us to trace the great movements of engraving in miniature.
The exhibition unfolds around two paths: one on the technique, or how craftsmen worked the stones according to regions and times, the other on the study of stones and the taste they may have aroused through the ages.
