CultureSecrets invites you to discover the recently inaugurated Méliès Museum at the Cinémathèque française during a private tour in the company of Gabrielle Sébire, co-curator of the Museum. Opened on January 13 of this year, the Museum pays tribute to the first and most iconic filmmaker, considered a true magician in his time.
Georges Méliès, one of the first great geniuses of cinema, a tutelary figure for filmmakers around the world, a tireless creator of the imaginary, now has his own museum at the Cinémathèque française. The tour offers to discover more than 300 machines, costumes, posters, models and photographs. Exceptional pieces including many drawings and films of Méliès, from the most famous to the rarest. Interactive devices accompany the tour. This private visit is a unique experience, a chance to meet Méliès, the brilliant inventor of special effects and precursor of modern cinema.
