Discover this creation by Pippo Delbono in Italian with surtitles at the Théâtre du Rond Point. In response to the pandemic and impossible mourning, Amore celebrates Portugal, its contradictions, its melancholy and joy, life itself.

To know

The project was born from the meeting and friendship between Pippo Delbono and the Italian theater producer Renzo Barsotti, who has been active in Portugal for years, and their desire to create a show about Portugal together. This is the starting point of Pippo Delbono's research on the traces of a word, "love", which is not only a feeling, but a state of the soul. A real gear in the human body, which selects, moves, breaks and reassembles everything we see, feel and desire.

Amore is a musical and lyrical journey through a concrete geography - which, from Portugal, will pass through Angola and Cape Verde -, but also an inner geography, that of the strings of the soul that vibrate at the slightest bump in life. In this show you will find:

  • The melancholic notes of the fado, exploding in energetic bursts through the singers' voices projected to reach every corner of the room.
  • The rhythm in osmosis with the painting that changes color, warms up and cools down.  At times it is a parade, a living tableau, a slow procession.
