CultureSecrets invites you to discover the exhibition Anima by the famous contemporary artist Laurent Grasso, presented at the Collège des Bernardins. The contemporary artist invests the entire building with a series of new creations: paintings, videos, installations. This artistic collaboration illustrates how the Collège des Bernardins, the creative process and the works of Laurent Grasso, echo and inspire each other.
For this exhibition and collaboration with the Collège des Bernardins, Laurent Grasso has created a new series of paintings "Studies into the Past". His place of inspiration, the forest of Mont Sainte-Odile, is symbolized by the forest of columns of the Cistercian vault of the Collège des Bernardins, on which a series of oils on wood are fixed. This vast conceptual project integrates elements from his films into paintings executed in the manner of the Renaissance masters, incorporating phenomena (clouds, fires, levitating rocks) into historical architectures. "Studies into the Past" continues a long-standing work on time and time travel where systems of echoes and mise en abyme deepen a sense of floating in front of this imaginary archaeology of work.
