Private morning visit of the exhibition "Gardens of Dreams" at the Giacometti Institute

A unique combination of the work of Alberto Giacometti and Salvador Dalí

The exhibition "Gardens of Dreams" combines the work of Alberto Giacometti and Salvador Dalí in an original way, around the creation of an imaginary garden in the early 1930s. CultureSecrets invites you to discover in private this new exhibition of the Giacometti Institute.

To know

The exhibition highlights the friendship between Alberto Giacometti and Salvador Dalí, as well as their shared taste for exploring dream spaces. It focuses on the deep links between Dalí's dreamlike paintings and Giacometti's enigmatic sculptures, both members of the Surrealist group at the time. The Giacometti Institute presents for the first time the reconstruction of a Giacometti masterpiece created in 1931, Project for a Square, unveiled as a large-scale installation. It was created while Giacometti and Dalí were designing an extraordinary garden for the Viscount and Viscountess of Noailles. It illustrates Giacometti's and Dalí's shared conception of the garden as an illusory and fantastical space, and their taste for ambiguous forms and images.
