Lecturers from the Rmn - Grand Palais offer you a brief history of 18th century art. This is an opportunity to revise the fundamentals of general culture, by tracing the main lines of art history, punctuated by musical extracts. Thus, in this course, the strong links between art and music are addressed, for the greatest pleasure of those who are passionate about Art with a capital A.
This century of the Enlightenment is marked by a breath of freedom where pleasure becomes the priority. At the origin of numerous works with new aesthetics (Watteau, Boucher, Rameau...), this century will nevertheless end with a return to Antiquity, prefiguring a time of rigor (David, Soufflot...).
