#FASHION Push open the doors of the Fondation Azzedine Alaïa with CultureSecrets, and enjoy a new private exhibition combining the works of Madame Grès and those of Alaïa, two solitary couturiers turned sculptors of dresses and icons of contemporary fashion. The unprecedented dialogue between these genius designers encompasses both evening and day dresses, 60 in all, and invites visitors to enjoy a real lesson beyond fashion.
Alaïa is one of the last couturiers to master every stage in the design and production of a garment. A master cutter and worthy heir to the masters of Couture, he is also a great collector, having acquired over 15,000 pieces that bear witness to the history of fashion in the 19th and 20th centuries. Among them, 700 dresses by Madame Grès are included in the inventory of this heritage, now the property of the foundation he wished to create. A selection of models and photographs are also on show for the first time.
Azzedine Alaïa's life has been constantly filled with fashion, art, design, architecture
