To know

From Europe to the Orient, Marc Riboud develops a deep interest in Man. He saw him evolve in a tormented century and quickly set out to immortalize him through photography. He joined the New York photographic press agency Magnum in 1953, at the age of 30. From then on, he was a privileged witness, covering key events, sometimes dramatic, throughout the world.
A large part of his travels were to Asia. This is why, on the occasion of the bequest of his work to the National Museum of Asian Arts, the latter has decided to organize a major retrospective in his honor. You will discover his black and white photos, his play of perspectives, in search of strength through harmony or disorder, but always putting the people he meets at the heart of his pictures.

This ticket also gives you access to other exhibitions at the Guimet Museum. For example, you can take advantage of your entry to discover the art of the "Asian Garden", and its spectacular and idealized creations of nature, but also the "Carte blanche à Toshimasa Kikuchi", whose works inspired by mathematical models merge art and science.
